On August 16th, BOE held the “Soft, Unseen” Innovative Technology Conference in Chengdu. At the event, BOE presented a 100 billion-level flexible OLED industry cluster in Southwest China, and released a new generation of Q9 light-emitting devices and a new self-developed Blue Diamond™ pixel arrangement.
As the earliest Chinese enterprise to enter the flexible OLED field, BOE has invested nearly 140 billion yuan to build China’s first flexible OLED industry cluster in China’s southwest region, including three world-leading flexible AMOLED production lines in Chengdu, Mianyang and Chongqing. The overall flexible OLED production capacity accounts for nearly 30% of global production capacity. Among them, the 6th generation flexible AMOLED production line in Chengdu, the first flexible AMOLED display production line in China, has broken the industrial gap of flexible OLED and is of earth-shattering significance for reshaping the global industrial structure.
At present, BOE has more than 16 global top terminal brand customer ecosystems, with an average of more than 100 co-operation projects per year.
In 2021, BOE’s flexible smartphone shipments will reach 60 million units, of which the shipments of foldable display products will exceed one million units. The overall shipments have ranked first in China and second in the world for many consecutive years.
With the further growth of demand for multi-modal smart display terminals, BOE’s annual shipments of flexible OLEDs are expected to reach 80 million units in 2022, and will rapidly move towards the goal of 100 million-level shipments. Along with shipping flexible OLED smartphones and high-end folding technical gadgets, the proportion of mobile phone display products shipped maintained rapid growth and continued to lead the domestic market.
